Subedar Basappa Patil

Subedar Basappa Patil (48) belonged to village Khanajaon, of Belgaum district in Karnataka. He completed his schooling in his native place. Later he joined the Indian army on 24th of July 1990 and sevred in a Madras regiment.

 

Mine Blast on LoC : July 2016

 

Subedar Patil was serving in a unit deployed in kargil sector of J & K area in 2016. Subedar Basappa Patil, was leading a patrol party along with Sepoy Khudavand on 29 July 2016 . The patrol party came under a mine blast while patrolling along LoC in Kargil sector of J&K. Due to the effect of the blast Sepoy Khudavand  and Subedar Patil  suffered severe injuries which proved to be fatal.

 

Subedar Basappa Patil, is survived by his wife Shakunthala, daughter Keerthy and son Prakash.
