Sep Madan Lal Nehra hailed from Bamaniya village of Sujangarh tehsil in the Churu district of Rajasthan and was born on 01 Aug 1984. Son of Shri Banaram Nehra and Smt Mohini Devi, he was inclined to serve in the Army since his younger days. after completing his initial education, he got married to Ms. Suman in the year 2000. Later in 2003, he joined the Army at the age of 19 years. He was recruited into the 5102 ASC Bn of the Army Service Corps, the logistic supply arm of the Indian Army. By 2018, he had put in about 15 years of service and had evolved into a committed soldier.

During 2018, Sep Madan Lal Nehra's unit was deployed in eastern Ladakh as part of Operation Meghdoot. The AOR(Area of Responsibility) of the unit spanned over remote rugged mountainous terrain with extreme weather conditions, especially in the winter season. The troops of many infantry units were deployed on various forward posts and often undertook patrols to monitor the area in between the manned posts. Sep Madan Lal Nehra's unit provided the required logistic support to the troops in the forward areas by moving the essential supplies. On 31 March 2018, Sep Madan Lal Nehra was assigned one such task of moving essential supplies to a forward post.
In the morning of 31 Mar 2018, Sep Madan Lal Nehara set off for the assigned task as per the plan. As the Sep Madan Lal Nehra's vehicle was on its way, from Leh to Khalsar in Nubra tehsil of Leh district, it skidded off the road at around 0930 hrs. After rolling off the road, the vehicle over turned injuring the soldiers in the truck including Sep Madan Lal Nehra. As a result, Sep Madan Lal got severely injured, and was rushed to the military hospital at Leh for medical treatment. However he later succumbed to his injuries and was martyred. Sep Madan Lal Nehra was a committed soldier, who laid down his life at the age of 33 years in the line of his duty.
Sep Madan Lal Nehra is survived by his wife Smt Suman Devi.
