    He was my uncle and we in my family are all very proud of him. He was and always will be an inspiration to hundreds of youngsters from our village. My grandfather also laid down his life in the War of 1971 and my uncle followed into his father’s footsteps. They will never be forgotten in our village. Their tales of bravery will always be shared in the years to come.

    Naik Ashok Kumar Poonia is from our village ‘Gokalpura’ in Haryana. He is a proud martyr Jat and comes from a family of extremely proud Patriots. His father was a war hero of 1971 war.
