2017at5:00 pmA die hard Rajput soldier who was martyred after killing Maj Sharif of Pakistan Army…elder brother of General Rahil Sharif (Retd)…Ex Chief of Army, in a hand to hand duel. It happened in Fazilka area of Punjab where his bust is set up as a memorial by the Regiment. Account is documented as “Battle of two Majors”
He belonged to a small village ..Krimchi Mansar of Distt. Udhampur (J&K).
He left behind 21yrs. old widow and 3yrs old son…who is a Doctor now. Mrs. Urmila Bhatyal is setteled at Udhampur only.
His bust memorial has been established recently near Town Hall of Udhampur.

2019at1:38 amNo Sir. He was a JAT and not Rajput. Maj Sharif was a Muslim Rajput. In hand to hand combat Jat Killed Muslim Rajput and stopped Pakistan Biggest Armour Thrust on Indian from West and similarly 2 Jat turned around the Battle in East after a Big and Heavey loss earlier and Indians lost the will to fight, its Jats who defeated Pakistan on both front in East(2 Jat) and West(4 Jat).
