A die hard Rajput soldier who was martyred after killing Maj Sharif of Pakistan Army…elder brother of General Rahil Sharif (Retd)…Ex Chief of Army, in a hand to hand duel. It happened in Fazilka area of Punjab where his bust is set up as a memorial by the Regiment. Account is documented as “Battle of two Majors”

He belonged to a small village ..Krimchi Mansar of Distt. Udhampur (J&K).
He left behind 21yrs. old widow and 3yrs old son…who is a Doctor now. Mrs. Urmila Bhatyal is setteled at Udhampur only.

His bust memorial has been established recently near Town Hall of Udhampur.
